Queer Comedy Night TQNC Fundraiser at the Rozzie Square Theater

  • The Rozzie Square Theater 5 Basile Street Boston, MA, 02131 United States (map)

The Rozzie Square Theater is generously supporting TQNC by donating a portion of their proceeds from Queer Comedy Night on April 19th!

Hosted by Boston-based stand-up comic Nora Panahi, this event is for anyone who loves to enjoy a great live comedy show while supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and local orgs — the Friday 4/19 performance will support TQNC!

The featured comic is different each show, join us as we welcome new and familiar faces and laugh together!

Ages 15+ are gently suggested, but not required. You know your kid better than we do and what they can handle with content, sitting for a full show, etc.

Rozzie Square Theater and seating is handicap accessible; Bathrooms are ADA compliant. If you have specific accommodation requirements, please reach out to courtney@cszboston.com or call the box office at (617) 318- 6376 to communicate your needs.

Queer Comedy Night was originally created as a collaboration between The Rozzie Square Theater and Roslindale Pride, an LGBTQIA+ community group comprised of residents of Roslindale, Hyde Park, and West Roxbury.

Nora Panahi is an Iranian-American stand-up comic and drag king with great hair and a manual transmission. She has been featured in HBO's Women in Comedy Festival, the YallaPunk Arts Festival, and Jacque's Cabaret High Key. You can find her performing in and out of drag all over Boston, New York, and the greater New England area. Panahi is also a staff writer for Sabah Il-Khara, a daytime talk show for the queer SWANA (South West Asian, North African) crowd.

About The Queer Neighborhood Council

LGBTQIA+ people deserve civic & community spaces where we can safely exist as our whole selves.

Showing up in front of neighbors & strangers in community and official public meetings can be uncomfortable, and it can be hard to fully engage.

That’s the problem TQNC set out to solve.

We focus on four pillars chosen by community feedback:

1) Policy Roundtables — Opportunities to engage directly with elected officials and policy experts

2) Housing Policy Advocacy Group — Based on consistent feedback from TQNC Community Connection attendees & member surveys, housing is the most urgent advocacy area in dire need of action

3) Community Arts — Providing opportunities to support and engage with local Boston-area queer artists and art venues

4) Socials — To build community and bring people from our other three pillars together, we host monthly gatherings in queer-forward spaces
